The Tanzania Landscapes Restoration Organization (TaLRO), with funding from UNDP GEF/SGP, launched a poultry project in Kisarawe District to diversify livelihoods and reduce forest dependence near the Pugu-Kazimzumbwi Nature Reserve. Partnering with the Kisarawe District Council and Interchick Company Limited, TaLRO established a demonstration poultry site and distributed 500 Tanbro breed chicks to villagers.
